The 2-5/16" Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems - 14,000 lbs # EQ91-00-6140 according to the manufacturer requires 430 ft-lbs torque. Only certain industrial torque wrenches have that capacity, so a good rule to follow is tightening until the washer is fully compressed. view full answer...
Since you are looking to lock-out your Sidewinder pin box # RP34FR, the bolts you need to add are at the rear through the rotating turret and the base. Then the wedge you need to remove is on the underside near the king pin. You simply remove the two bolts so there is movement at the hitch head at the king pin and you can store the wedge in another location shown in the lockout picture attached.
Since you are new to Sidewinders, I want to make sure you know why you'd want to lockout... view full answer...
When it comes to 5th wheels you'll need to measure the height from the ground to the floor of your 2016 Nissan Titan XD's bed and the height from the ground to the pin box king pin plate while the trailer is level. The difference between the two is the height you'll want you hitch at.
For example the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Nissan Titan XD Towing Prep Package # C16520-16026 has 13-17" height adjustment. If you measure a bed height of 40" and a king pin plate height of 55"... view full answer...
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15306 which is a fit for a 2016 Nissan Titan XD does sit below the factory trailer hitch. That said, it does not butt right up against the factory hitch as there is still a gap. Unfortunately, we do not have any photos of the hitch installed at this time but it will be the only option for models with the factory hitch.
If you want to measure, the distance from the bottom of the frame on the truck to the top of the receiver tube on the trailer hitch... view full answer...
The Curt front hitch part # C31077 that you referenced is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Nissan Titan XD and does not require any modifications including drilling to install. view full answer...
If you need the light to be off when your driving, you can turn off the LED on the VueSMART RV and Trailer Backup Camera # HM34FR on the app. I've inlcuded a video that you can watch to see how Rob did it. It's at 7:30 in the video. He will show you the little button on the bottom of the app that'll turn off the LED so you can drive legally. view full answer...
The factory relays should just pull out of the fuse box, which will allow you to use the # C57000 to replace them with new towing relays. I've linked a review and installation video that shows the process. view full answer...
The Curt OEM 5th Wheel Hitch Legs for Nissan Titan XD Towing Prep Package # C16026 weighs roughly 129 lbs. Whether one person can install it or not is going to depend on the strength of the person. I have included a video that shows one person moving the hitch legs around in the bed of the truck alone to install them. view full answer...
The Thule Xsporter Pro Adjustable Height Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # TH500XT is a fit for your 2019 Nissan Titan XD. The factory drop-in bed liner will not be an issue for the vertical adjustments on the uprights. I will say that the majority of trucks now come with the a factory drop-in bed liner and we have not yet heard back of any issues with this and the Thule Xsporter.
I have attached an install video for you on a truck with the factory drop-in bed liner just for reference. view full answer...
With your sag/squat situation, we normally recommend an Air Lift bag suspension enhancement like the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper, Item # AL88229, that is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Nissan Titan XD. Since you have already adjusted your trailer and it is at it maxed out level, this option may not be the best for you.
The Air Lift option would eliminate your sag/squat but will also raise your trailer height as part of the leveling. This leaves you the only option of... view full answer...
The Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # C32DR doesn't have specific provisions for connecting the breakaway cable from your 5th wheel trailer, but this is pretty common when it comes to 5th wheel hitches.
In all honesty I would want to connect that breakaway cable to something fixed on the truck as opposed to the 5th wheel hitch. In a worst-case scenario you want that cable attached to something that has zero chance of disconnecting from the truck.... view full answer...
If you're referring to the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Nissan Titan XD OEM # DM6200 then the puck legs wouldn't exactly lock into place in the pucks of Titan. The center gooseneck post would be the only point that locks and puck legs would simply sit in the pucks. As long as the locking bolt for the gooseneck post on the adapter is properly secured you'll be good to tow your trailer.
If you're referring to something else then please let me know and I'd be happy to take a look. view full answer...
I reached out to the my tech fit contact at Curt and he said that there is no modification needed to install the Curt Front Mounted Hitch # C31077 to your 2016 Nissan Titan XD Pro-4X. You will remove the tow hooks for installation and then reinstall them. He said you will retain your skidplate and no modification even drilling will be required. view full answer...
Per step 1 of the installation instructions, the tow hook installation bolts and tow hooks are removed from the vehicle prior to installation. What the instructions DON'T very clearly state is that these items aren't reinstalled. The hardware included with the hitch is used and the tow hooks are left off.
The hitch has tow loops incorporated into it, so the factory tow hooks aren't necessary any longer. view full answer...
There are 2 options from Air Lift for you to add Air Helper Springs on your 2016 Nissan Titan XD with the OEM gooseneck hitch. The LoadLifter 5000 # AL57229, and the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate with Internal Jounce Bumpers # AL88229.
Either of these Helper Springs has a weight capacity of 5,000 lbs but will not increase your XD's weight-carrying capacity. You will want to be sure that you are not exceeding the recommended weight limit from the manufacturer.
