- Per step 1 of the installation instructions, the tow hook installation bolts and tow hooks are removed from the vehicle prior to installation. What the instructions DON'T very clearly state is that these items aren't reinstalled. The hardware included with the hitch is used and the tow hooks are left off.
The hitch has tow loops incorporated into it, so the factory tow hooks aren't necessary any longer.
